I love how these mats give me a breakdown of my AK. It makes dissassembling and reassembling the first time much easier.It's a nice size. It's large enough to lay out a fully disassembled AK-47 and all components. One thing I noticed about the parts diagram: There are two different parts labeled #38 - The trigger (which is labeled correctly) and the barrel nut (which could also be any other device that screws onto the end of the threaded barrel). They used #38 for the barrel accessory in the diagram, but there is no corresponding part name in the list of parts. Obviously not a big deal. But I happen to know a few people that are absolute fanatics for accuracy that would find this unacceptable. Thus my docking it 1 star. This mat has two purposes. 1) It's a clean place to lay stuff down. 2) It's a technical diagram. If TekMat wants to make a technical diagram of an AK, it had better be 100% accurate, or they shouldn't bother. Not that any normal person holding a real AK (or looking at this drawing) could ever mistake the trigger for a muzzle break. You'd have to be an elected official to be that daft.I bought this as replacement mouse pad. Seeing as it is a lot cheaper than some of the over sized products from other companies. Also it makes more a neat piece for the desk.About the product, the printing is in the fabric itself which gives it a very smooth surface. Great for using my mouse on with no issues (Logitech G502). My only complaint is the edges around the mat are a little rough from when they cut it to size.It is big and I use it at work to cover my cheap desk surface that is all scratched up and stuff. On my desk, there was this plastic edging that was pealing off and sharp and cutting into my arms when I typed. I placed the mat and it hasn't moved and now the sharp edge is covered and comfortable.I removed 1 star for the mat being thinner than expected.I actually bought this as a desk blotter and gun cleaning surface. I do wish it was a little larger. Not necessary but it would have been cool. I have had it for a while now and it is holding. The white lettering is not wearing off and if and when it does I will just buy another one LOL... I bought the one for my M&Ps as well. These really come in handy if you do a full disassembly. Enjoy and don't forget to do your safety check!Nice mat but the number sequence on the exploded parts diagram are kind of weird, it's not a straight 1 through 150, there are numbers missing. For instance there is no number 2, why? Why skip from 1 to 3 in a numbered sequence? Oh well it's nice to know the exact name of every single part of my AK, would recommend and would buy again.Heck yea! This is tough stuff (like me?). The face of it is a tough material then a soft neoprene material underneath to protect the surface for your work bench (or the wife's kitchen cabinet, shush!). I clean gun on it and if ( ok, when) I forget what that "what-cha-ma-call-it" is I look on the mat and remember and where it goes. I have 3 different ones for other guns, love um all. I only regret is that they don't have them for more guns. You won't regret getting one.the mat is durable, shows breakdown of gun, has never ripped, good AAA+++I use this as a desk mat, feels the same as my Steelseries QCK+ XL Heavy, but a little thinner. It had a pretty strong rubber smell initially, but that went away after a week or two. Pretty standard. I love how big it is and it fits under my keyboard AND my mouse, which is pretty awesome.
